Phone Sales Representative – Serenity Kids

The Company:

Serenity Kids is a family-owned and run company that is dedicated to supporting working parents. Serenity & Joe Carr started Serenity Kids because they wanted the best for their baby, Della, and didn’t like what was on the market. Babies need protein and healthy fats to grow their brains and bodies, and no baby food on the market at the time included these essential macronutrients. They created our own to mimic the nutrients of breast milk, made from pasture-raised meats sourced from small American family farms and blended with high-quality organic vegetables. Our purees are balanced savory meals that contain the most nutrition per bite because every bite counts.

Summary:

The Phone Sales Representative will help grow Serenity Kids retail distribution by calling the highest priority stores daily such has Whole Foods, key natural accounts and independents. In addition, there will be Austin area store visits and administrative tasks. Serenity Kids will provide a mobile phone. This is a fulltime salaried role with the opportunity for large commissions. $30K base + $20-40K commission potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Calling current stores to gain placements and fill voids
  • Calling new natural stores like Natural Grocer, NCG, INFRA, and independents
  • Completing and emailing the proper paperwork for each new placement
  • Tracking all calls with notes of contact, conversations, dates, SKUs & actions
  • Keeping daily and weekly call lists organized
  • Keep accurate records of active products for all new retailers
  • Updating the Serenity Kids Master Store List
  • Reviewing monthly distributor reports to identify initial placements and second orders
  • Auditing industry data reports ensuring placements and velocities
  • Establish active communication and engagement with retailers and distributors to ensure that orders are processed promptly
  • Maintain positive business relationships with customers to ensure future sales
  • Add in and update all store contact information in the Serenity Kids phone.
  • Provide weekly recaps of calls made, turnover orders processed, and number of products placed
  • Attend essential sales training meetings and develop an understanding of all the company’s services and products
  • Contribute to overall customer satisfaction by promptly answering emails
  • Collaborate with sales team in weekly meetings to identify highest priorities
  • Develop actionable insights relative to retailers and distributors to drive business growth
  • Visit and audit Austin area, active retailers, to ensure best merchandising presentation to consumers
  • Do occasional administrative tasks for the sales team

 

Key Competencies:

  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience with calling retailers a plus
  • Experience in the Natural Foods Industry a plus
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Ability to have a pleasant phone personality
  • Be strongly skilled in organization, problem-solving, customer service, and multitasking while being committed to excellence
  • Must be able to travel to Austin area retail locations and capability to maintain a clean driving record
  • Have a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and determination to make new sales
  • Self-directed, pro-active, detail-oriented, and an individual who takes ownership
  • Ability to manage and prioritize many projects simultaneously

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • 1-3 years sales and/or marketing experience
  • A. or B.S. degree in a related field is a plus
  • High growth, food industry experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel and working with google sheets
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information at an easy to understand, summary level, is required.
